Estonian language tutors from Estonia

I teach Estonian as a second language. I can help students complete their curriculum, and adults complete programs at different language levels.

Hi there! :) My name is Saskia. I am a Master’s student in Cultural Management at the University of Tartu, and I have been actively involved in several projects focused on teaching Estonian. For example, I was part of the team behind the Estonskad project in Narva, which aimed to teach Estonian to Russian- and Ukrainian-speaking young people through playful activities, creative projects, and educational workshops. This experience strengthened my belief that language learning is most effective when students feel safe, comfortable, and free to express themselves. My main focus is on the learning process itself – I value a friendly, inclusive, and supportive environment where students are not afraid of making mistakes, but instead see them as a natural part of learning. I believe that language learning can be fun, inspiring, and effective at the same time. I especially enjoy working with primary school students, as their lessons can include plenty of playful and creative methods. However, I am also happy to teach older learners and adapt my approach according to their age and language level. My goal is to help students use the language confidently and naturally in everyday situations.

I offer language buddy support (communicative language learning), meaning I help you communicate in Estonian in situations you choose. At least a beginner level of Estonian is required to participate in lessons. Suitable for those whose goal is to use Estonian in everyday life. Also suitable for those who already have a C level and want to polish their spoken language skills (genitive or partitive 🤔). By talking about selected topics and situations, we’ll also learn grammar. An individual approach tailored to each student’s needs. LET’S START TALKING! GET IN TOUCH!

Hi, teaching has been my passion since I was a child. I have been teaching English for the past 30+ years and travel management for eight years. Being an Estonian, I can also help you practise your Estonian speaking skills. If you happen to wish to talk about travelling or learn how to plan your own trips, I can help with it, too.

Hello! I’m Svetlana — a young and enthusiastic language teacher who loves learning and teaching languages. I’ve been studying English and Estonian for several years: I started with a B1-level course at school, continued with private lessons, and have reached B2 level in both Estonian and English. I’ve been teaching since last year, and so far I’ve taught more than 20 students. Russian is my native language, and I’m happy to help A1–B1 learners who want to improve their language skills. All lessons take place online, so you can learn comfortably from home!

As an experienced tutor, I have been teaching Estonian since 2020. Over this period, I have successfully prepared two students for the B2 level exam and one for the B1 level. I have also worked with preschool-aged children, first and second graders, as well as high school and middle school graduates. In addition, I have taught adult learners, including one elderly woman. My lessons have been conducted both online and offline. My current level of Estonian is C1. For now, I am able to teach Estonian up to the B2 level. I have a background in Oriental Studies with a specialization in Japanese, and I learned Japanese during my studies. I have also visited Japan once. In Japanese, my proficiency is at B1 or N3, so I am available to teach beginner-level Japanese. I am also available as an art tutor, having graduated from an art school and worked for about three years in game design. During my career, I have completed projects using both traditional techniques and digital art. This experience allows me to guide students in various artistic methods, whether they prefer working by hand or on a computer.
