Tutors from Estonia

Hi there! :) My name is Saskia. I am a Master’s student in Cultural Management at the University of Tartu, and I have been actively involved in several projects focused on teaching Estonian. For example, I was part of the team behind the Estonskad project in Narva, which aimed to teach Estonian to Russian- and Ukrainian-speaking young people through playful activities, creative projects, and educational workshops. This experience strengthened my belief that language learning is most effective when students feel safe, comfortable, and free to express themselves. My main focus is on the learning process itself – I value a friendly, inclusive, and supportive environment where students are not afraid of making mistakes, but instead see them as a natural part of learning. I believe that language learning can be fun, inspiring, and effective at the same time. I especially enjoy working with primary school students, as their lessons can include plenty of playful and creative methods. However, I am also happy to teach older learners and adapt my approach according to their age and language level. My goal is to help students use the language confidently and naturally in everyday situations.

I teach Estonian as a second language. I can help students complete their curriculum, and adults complete programs at different language levels.

Hi, teaching has been my passion since I was a child. I have been teaching English for the past 30+ years and travel management for eight years. Being an Estonian, I can also help you practise your Estonian speaking skills. If you happen to wish to talk about travelling or learn how to plan your own trips, I can help with it, too.

I offer language buddy support (communicative language learning), meaning I help you communicate in Estonian in situations you choose. At least a beginner level of Estonian is required to participate in lessons. Suitable for those whose goal is to use Estonian in everyday life. Also suitable for those who already have a C level and want to polish their spoken language skills (genitive or partitive 🤔). By talking about selected topics and situations, we’ll also learn grammar. An individual approach tailored to each student’s needs. LET’S START TALKING! GET IN TOUCH!
