About

Hi! I’m Ms. Pinky, a licensed professional math teacher and an experienced online tutor with over 6 years of tutoring experience. I’ve worked with students from Kindergarten to high school, as well as some college-level learners. I have experience teaching different curricula, including US Common Core, British, Australian, Canadian, and Cambridge/IGCSE programs. I help students with regular school math, homework, test preparation, and subjects such as Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Statistics, and more. What makes my teaching special is that I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I adjust each lesson to the student’s learning level, pace, strengths, and areas that need improvement. My lessons usually follow a simple process: understand the concept, practice together, and then apply it independently. I use clear explanations, step-by-step examples, interactive activities, and real-world problems to make math easier to understand and less intimidating. My goal is not only to help students get the right answer, but also to help them understand why the answer is correct, become more confident, and develop skills they can use independently.

Teaching Style

My teaching approach is student-centered, interactive, and results-focused. I adjust each lesson based on the student’s current level, learning pace, strengths, weaknesses, and specific goals. I typically structure lessons in three stages: 1. Concept Explanation We begin with a clear and simple explanation of the topic. I break complex concepts into smaller steps and use examples to make them easier to understand. 2. Guided Practice We work through problems together. I ask questions and provide guidance to help students understand the process rather than simply memorize formulas or answers. 3. Independent Practice Students then solve problems independently so I can check their understanding and identify areas that need more practice. I provide immediate feedback and correct misconceptions along the way. I use a variety of digital tools and interactive resources, including Zoom, whiteboards, shared screens, worksheets, visual examples, practice exercises, and curriculum-aligned materials. I also use real-world examples and problem-solving activities when appropriate.
