About

My introduction to the piano came quite early. For as long as I can remember, there has always been music playing at home, as my mother is also a piano teacher. I officially began studying piano at Ahtme School of Arts at the age of five, and later added the organ. As a teenager, I also completed the school’s pop and jazz singing programme. This gave me the opportunity to perform for several years with the vocal ensemble Bliss, alongside my classical piano studies. As I had been so actively and successfully involved in music throughout my life, the decision to apply to the G. Ots Tallinn Music School (teacher Ülle Sisa, Professor Peep Lassmann, teacher Kadri-Ann Sumera) came naturally. At the same time, I also began studying organ at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (Professor Andres Uibo), because my love for both instruments remains equally strong. After graduating from the Academy of Music, I am now continuing my studies in a master’s programme in Germany. I have taught piano, organ and singing to both adults and children (from the age of 4), from complete beginners to more advanced students (up to intermediate level).

Teaching Style

As a teacher, my greatest goal is to share my love of music with my students. Playing the piano has often helped me express myself more precisely and organise my thoughts; music has been a wonderful companion in the happiest moments and a comfort during life’s more difficult times. I would like to teach students about the different ways the piano in particular, and music more generally, can be used. Details in music are important to me personally, so I am a fairly demanding teacher and try to help students understand what gives a particular piece its value. At the same time, I believe music lessons should always be creative and, for children, playful too. I give each student as much freedom to express themselves as they need, including through the repertoire they play, so that everyone can experience what creativity and art are truly about.
