Hello everyone, my name is Arlene , and I am thrilled to be your ESL teacher. I’ve been teaching English for 14 years, and I specialize in helping students develop their language skills at all levels, from beginners to advanced learners. I grew up in a city surrounded by a diverse culture. My journey with the English language began when I was quite young, and it has helped me a lot in meeting people from different backgrounds and helping them communicate effectively in English. I hold TESOL certification, and a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Commerce major in Business Management. Over the years, I’ve worked with students from various age groups and cultural backgrounds, which has given me a deep understanding of the challenges language learners face. My approach to teaching focuses on student-centered learning, interactive methods, and practical application of language skills. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy watching short dramas and reading about astrology. These activities not only give me a chance to relax but also help me stay connected with the broader world and different cultures, which I bring into the classroom. As your teacher, my goal is to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where you feel comfortable practicing your English. I’m here to guide you, answer your questions, and help you become confident English speakers. I look forward to getting to know each of you and helping you achieve your language learning goals. In teaching children using realias, images, role-playing, Callan Method, songs, chants, TPR, reward system, and concept check questions. In teaching adults, I avoid "PARSNIP in all of my classes. PARSNIP the acronym used by educational publishers to remind authors of topics to be avoided in textbooks. It stands for politics, alcohol, religion, sex, narcotics, isms (communism for example), and pork". This is to ensure good relationships and rapport with the students.
